-sunday- what a game we played... my bro and i went for fuel(cell) in the morning and it ended at 10.30. my church is at payalebar and it is extremely close to SBC(Singapore Basketball Association). without much breakfast, i went to play a game, against the australians. when everybody have met, we changed and did our warm-ups. After the previous game was over, they gave us the ball and told us that we had only 2 minutes. 2 MINS? that was like so short. we only did like a few lay ups and shots like 2 per person and the game started. the game we played, i would say it was horrible. the first quarter almost everybody was blur and we did several fast breaks but, the finish off was terrible. majority of our fast breaks missed. for me, i was like super slow, as in reaction. i don't know whether is it im hungry, have not done my 'big business' before the match like what i always do before training, too nervous, which i don't think i am, or no energy to burn as i had a 'burning' sensation in my stomach the moment i ran on court. the australians were not really strong and i think we could have won them. like what mr koh said, we are playing their game instead of them playing ours. there were some tough 15 year old boys but still we should have beat them. Anglican beat the same opponent with about 20 points. but the day they played not al the australians in that team were there. what does this mean? my leg was injured on that day(which is still injured now) and maybe that was why i didn't play well? coach bandaged my leg but it sort of prevented the blood from flowing, causing my leg to my damn tired. worst, it was my left leg that was injured, how to do right-hand lay-up? sigh... i think what really overcame us was fear, fear of the word 'Australian'? this usually make us think they are big, but in actual fact, their overall height is shorter than us. Labels: but realising the mistakes that we have made and avoid them.., its not about winning |
