FIBA Asia || Back to top

I thank God for this opportunity to be part of the National team, representing Singapore in the FIBA asia games. It's a one-in-a-life-time thing and though I wasn't the main player, at least I got to play and experience this tournament.

It's been an eye-opening experience to be able to see where my nation truly stands among the 16 countries, and how good the players really are. This time, it was good to have at least achieved something- 14th position, not the last anymore. I've learned much from this trip to Malaysia, but there will be no improvement until action is done. So this month, it's all in the mind, it's up to my decision, I'm going to improve.

Some people expect an immediate change in your capabilities and skills right after the 10 days of international competition like this one. I'm just wondering how is that possible if you had only contributed a little bit in every game, and hardly had trainings because they were replaced with rest? To me, I saw so much in basketball through this trip, but I can't be a superstar immediately.

Practice is the solution and that's what I'm committed to do.

Holidays || Back to top

Who usually gets bored when they leave their home temporarily to either take a break and enjoy life, or to do something nerve twitching, tiring, super challenging, but is what they love most? Well I guess most people won't, except for weirdos.

In this coming holidays (referring to sec threes), I would most probably be traveling 4 times. First to JB for FIBA Asia games, then Malaysia again for a wedding ceremony, followed by church camp in Malaysia again, and finally, Taiwan for an overseas training tour with the YOG squad.

I will be leaving to JB tomorrow morning. Before I leave, what constantly and never fails to trouble me is the packing of the luggage. The trip will be a 10 days stay and the amount of clothes needed might probably just cause a break down to the washing machine when I come back. (just kidding) Fortunately, is a laundry service there but I really hope they are reliable.

Of course, the main purpose of this trip is to represent Singapore to play basketball with other countries and I aim to play my best, learn as much as I can, and experience the moment of tension as my teammates and I strive to beat our opponents at an international level. It would be a once in a life time opportunity and I am honored to be selected to play for my country.

As my teammates and I prepare ourselves for this tournament, I pray that God will keep us healthy, free from sicknesses, and focused on the games to come. Amen

"Deja vu" || Back to top

What is more exciting than being involved in a film production, besides basketball?

For 2 consecutive days of filming this "Deja vu" story, I think I had a great time with friends and teachers. It was my first time acting and it was kind of weird for me, especially acting as a loan shark together with my brother.

Showing exaggerating facial expressions and using unusual tones to project my unlikely character, isn't it ironic? While traveling from parks, to malls, to eateries, time never stop racing. Rushing was the only solution. The "beautiful" rain helped cleansed the polluted air, but at the same time lagged our time to complete the filming in the shortest time possible.

After all had happened, thank God the job was completed by Tuesday evening. Though the sky poured a little, it stopped and rained again alternately and managed to fulfill all the scenes. I just hope that I acted fine.
