River valley high vs Unity sec || Back to top

2 days ago we had a good game against River valley. They had a 'giant center' from china. 1.90cm+? In Singapore, you are considered very tall. But before telling you about the game, let me give you a brief intro about how i know the coach and the team.

Before the big guy came into the team in 2007, my sis's friend who was once from RV and in hwa chong JC playing for the school team that year, recommended my bro and i to train with the players of Hong Kah North club. The coach was RV's coach. So my bro and i trained with the JC and sec people.

Back to my storytelling... On that day, my team did our warm ups, stretches and team talk. During the first quarter, we didn't play well. totally didn't. we were losing by 6 points! however, as we played, we started to get more and more focused and into the game. Jump shots, power shots, drive-ins, and foul-ins made us lead by a quite a lot. That wasn't enough. we continued to persevere. i had some good eye contact with jinyi (point guard) and he made few beautiful passes to me when i created space in the 'red box' which was converted to a power shot. Few of them were foul-ins.

One funny, yet, unfortunate thing happened to me on the court. i was trying to help i think my brother to defend number 15, the giant and accidentally collided with Gaddiel. His teeth ' sank into my skin'. Just kiddin, i had small cut near my eye by Gad's teeth. i was bleeding but i was unconscious about it. So i stopped playing. (i hope my looks don't change)

The score was about 90+ to 50+. My coach said that he did not expect us to win so much. he expected 30 and we did about 40 points. How cool is that. Anyways, we played very well on that day, apart from the first quarter and i hope that this spirit will not end especially in the finals on tuesday at jurong east when it is going to be so pressurizing. Man i just pray that i can control my nervousness on that day.
